Sign-up: three decisions to make before the form

Opening an account takes minutes. What matters more is what surrounds those minutes: who you are signing up with, which details you use, and whether you take a bonus. A mistake on any of the three is harder to fix later than to avoid now.

The steps

  1. Check the operator. Find the company name in the site terms and look it up on the licence register of the regulator in your country.
  2. Fill in the form with your own details. Name, date of birth and address exactly as on your ID.
  3. Confirm your email or phone. Some features stay locked until you do.
  4. Set limits. A deposit limit is easiest to choose straight away.
  5. Settle the bonus question before your first deposit. Read the terms, then tick or untick.

What to have ready

A valid ID document, access to your email and phone, and a payment method in your own name — a bank card, bank account or e-wallet. Using someone else's card or wallet is a frequent reason for a refused withdrawal.

Identity verification

The operator may ask for ID and proof of your payment method. Complete it before your first withdrawal request: if you are wagering a bonus, its deadline keeps running while you look for documents. Upload sharp photos with no glare and no cropped edges.

Sign-up bonus and promo codes

If the form has a promo code field, the code goes there or on the first deposit page. Before entering it, open the terms and convert the wagering into euros — the method is on the wagering page. Where genuine codes come from is covered under promo codes.

How a welcome package is put together

A package may spread several bonuses across your first deposits, each with its own conditions. Do not make the next deposit just to keep the package alive — the breakdown is on the welcome bonus page.

Quick sign-up: what actually gets faster

"One-click" registration shortens the form but does not remove verification: you will still fill in your details before a withdrawal. Time saved at the start often turns into a delay at the end.

Signing up on a phone

The form in a mobile browser is the same as on a computer. The one tip: read the bonus terms on a bigger screen, because on a phone it is easy to miss the line about the stake cap. More on the mobile page.

Logging in afterwards

Use a unique password and two-factor authentication if it is available. Never log in through links in unexpected messages — type the address yourself or use a bookmark.

Registration not going through: common causes

The email or phone number is already registered, the date of birth was mistyped, a VPN is on, or your country of residence is not accepted. Self-exclusion through a national register is another reason, and it works as intended.

A short checklist before you press "register"

Operator found on the regulator's register, details match your ID, payment method in your name, bonus terms read, deposit limit chosen. With all five done, sign-up goes through without surprises.

Sign-up questions

Which documents will verification need?
Usually a passport or national ID card, sometimes proof of address and of the payment method. The operator decides the exact list. The details in your account must match the document exactly.
Can I register without taking a bonus?
Yes. If a bonus is offered at sign-up or on the first deposit, untick the box or leave the code field empty. Playing without a bonus is a perfectly sensible choice, especially if you want freedom to withdraw.
What if registration fails?
Check whether your email or phone number is already in use, whether the date of birth is correct and whether a VPN is switched on. If you have self-excluded through a national scheme, licensed operators in that country are expected to refuse the account — which is the point of the scheme.
