Reload bonus: for people who already play

A reload bonus is credited on a repeat deposit. Operators offer it to existing players — weekly, at weekends, after a break, or as part of a loyalty scheme. The mechanics match a welcome bonus, usually with smaller amounts. The real question is different, though: were you going to top up anyway? If yes, the bonus may help. If not, it is nudging you towards a deposit you did not plan.

With the bonus or without it

Say you planned to add €40 and play slots. A 50% reload up to €100 with 30x on the bonus adds €20 and asks for €600 of turnover (illustrative example, not an Irwin term). The expected cost on slots returning about 96% is roughly €24 — slightly more than the bonus. If you usually stake €700–€900 a week, you will hit that turnover regardless, and the reload is a pleasant extra. Everything hinges on your normal volume of play.

Your styleReload bonus
Occasional short sessionsMore often a hindrance: turnover unfinished, deposit locked
Regular slot playCan pay off if the turnover fits your normal play
Live and table gamesUsually poor value because of low weighting
Wanting quick withdrawalsBetter declined: a payout request cancels an active bonus

What to check in reload terms

The one-active-bonus rule

If you still have an unfinished bonus, a new reload will usually not be credited. Some operators let you cancel the current bonus, but any winnings made with it go too. Before cancelling, check how much turnover is left: finishing the old bonus is sometimes better than swapping it for a new one.

Reload, cashback or VIP perks

For regular players, reload offers compete with other rewards. Cashback paid as real money needs no turnover and does not lock your deposit. VIP perks accrue on bets you make anyway. Compare them on a single measure — how many euros are left to you after the conditions are met — and pick the one that leaves your usual pace of play unchanged.

Reload bonus questions

How is a reload bonus different from a welcome bonus?
It is aimed at existing players and attaches to later deposits. The percentage and cap are usually lower and the conditions similar. Some reloads are only available on certain days of the week.
Can I take a reload bonus while an earlier bonus is still being wagered?
Usually not: the one-active-bonus rule applies. The new bonus is either not credited or put in a queue. Check the operator's general bonus terms for how this works.
Is it worth topping up just to get the reload?
Only if you were going to deposit that amount anyway. Depositing for the sake of the bonus is the classic way to spend more than planned.
